A new tourist spot Lotus Lake in Shakarparian Islamabad has been established by CDA.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completed work on the Lotus Lake and Family Park. CDA Chairman Aamir Ali Ahmed inaugurated it on Sunday. In addition, it happened for the first time after 2009 that CDA constructed a family park in Islamabad. The main initiative is to promote tourism and facilitate the citizens of the twin cities. It is a family park and only families will be allowed to enter the park.
The lotus lake was initially built in 1970 that was demolished later on in 2006 due to construction of the cultural complex. Due to the high demand from the citizens of Islamabad, the CDA reconstructed the lake with a family park.
The park and Lotus Lake have been constructed without disturbing the surroundings of the site. Moreover, wood and stones are used to make park benches as a sitting place in the park. Saplings and grass are also added to enhance the natural beauty of the park.
According to the press release of CDA, the chairman took a personal interest in the beautification and construction of the lake. He is keen to promote and enhance tourism in Islamabad.
