Earlier this year Prime Minister Imran Khan applauded the record levels of cement sales despite the looming pandemic. But due to the current financial instability, the cement industry is not a great reflection the government of Pakistan wants to present to local and international investors.
Five departments are being directed to proceed with the issuance of cement plant NOCs within a 90 days framework, said Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade, Mian Aslam Iqbal.
In a meeting conducted between the minister and the Dhan Cement CEO Anwarhul Haq Shad, the media was informed that at current five companies have been issued with NOCs. In regards to this, the minister further ensured the new scheme will also provide relief in providing facilities to the overseas investors. And notified that Dhan Cement has the governments full support towards the restoration of their mining lease as well as the construction of their new cement grinding plant.
Whilst, installation of the coloured cement plant will be a beneficial substitution to paint. Haq said that due to the rising demand in coloured cement it is a popular demand in the Gulf. Hence, he has requested that the government review and resolve the mining leases and NOC matters accordingly.
