“I want to give [the construction sector] good news for the new year. We have extended the fixed tax regime to Dec 31, 2021,” the PM said during his first live address to the nation in 2021.
This decision is vital to help recover Pakistan’s construction sector heavily impacted by the coronavirus outbreak crisis. The extension of the amnesty scheme period is among the PM’s generous initiatives, to provide relief to the ailing sector.
During the national address, the PM of Pakistan said he was excited to announce “projects worth Rs186 billion have been registered with the FBR (Federal Board of Revenue) under the incentives we had given for construction in April”.
PM further said that Punjab alone will generate economic activity worth Rs1,500bn and will boost employment opportunities by creating 250,000 jobs.
